Michael Gerbasi

Contracting Officer, U.S. Army

Prior to joining DIU, Michael served as the Deputy Procurement Chief and Warranted Contracting Officer for the Regional Contracting Center Kuwait, 408th Contracting Support Brigade where he was responsible for the Army’s contracting support throughout Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, and Qatar.

Other previous assignments include serving as the Executive Officer for the Director of the Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Contracts Directorate at Redstone Arsenal. Michael was also assigned as a contracting specialist supporting PEO Aviation’s Improved Turbine Engine Product Office. There he was responsible for providing acquisition planning and contract administration on an $519M R&D contract to develop the Army’s next generation of helicopter engines.

Michael started his career as an all-source military intelligence officer in the United States Army. 

Michael is currently pursuing a M.S.L. in Government Procurement Law at The George Washington University Law School. He holds a degree in business marketing management from Hillsdale College (MI) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Nova Southeastern University (FL). Michael has obtained his Professional Contracting Certification (DAWIA Level III Certified) and is a Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM).
