Andrew Hong

Lt Col Andrew Hong currently serves as the Director of the Cyber and Telecommunications Portfolio at the Defense Innovation Unit. In this role, Andrew leads the portfolio which is focused on Cyber Warfare Operations, Enterprise Information Technology, Electromagnetic Warfare and AI-enabled cyber operations  to deliver  innovative commercial solutions to the Department of Defense. He also serves as DIU’s Taiwan lead. 

Andrew is a U.S. Air Force Cyber Warfare Officer and has spent over 15 years in Cyber operations with various assignments in the Air Force supporting USCYBERCOM, USINDOPACOM, USCENTOM, USNORTHCOM and Director of Operational Test and Evaluation. Prior to DIU, he served as the Director of Operations at the 32 Weapons Squadron. 

Andrew received his commission and earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the United States Air Force Academy. He is a graduate and former instructor at the United States Air Force Weapons School.
