The U.S. Navy is responsible for maintaining Freedom of Navigation in a vast maritime domain, but lacks necessary unmanned technologies to supplement their fleet of manned vessels and aircraft. Reliance on personnel-centric assets without unmanned technologies creates “holes” in coverage, both above and below surface.

The Solution

The iXblue DriX is an unmanned surface vessel equipped for a variety of maritime research tasks including hydography, oceanography, and environmental monitoring. Its autonomous capabilities are complemented by a unique hull design that enhances stability and efficiency in various sea states. This allows the DriX to provide accurate data collection while maintaining operational effectiveness.
