We Are - The Department of War Innovation Unit

Bridge Program

The Bridge Program is tasked with raising the probability of adoption by deepening transition. DIU’s mandate is clear: drive a commercial-first strategy to implement novel approaches the Department demands and focus on delivery. The Bridge Team will facilitate co-use classified facilities nationwide, slash cyber authorization timelines by half, and enable agile, end-to-end capabilities for young companies desperate to demonstrate.

The Areas We Focus:

The Bridge Program is executing a targeted strategy to eliminate critical bottlenecks—specifically surrounding security clearances, access to classified spaces, technology accreditations, and testing to help non-traditional companies sell and scale commercial solutions within the military.

How We Operate:

Bridge operates as part of the Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG) and uses DIU portfolio companies as a test bed to pilot technology-enabled solutions to the biggest problems facing companies after they are awarded a DOW contract. While the services offered by the Bridge Program are currently offered only to DIU portfolio companies, DIU is working with partners across the Department to ensure that the solutions are scaled and adopted across the enterprise.
