The Problem This Solution Solves
USG and military systems are constantly under attack from nation state actors in cyberspace. When utilizing current cyberspace defense tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) cyber operators declare success when a threat is detected and an IP or domain block is initiated. This leaves little opportunity for an adversary or unauthorized user to be studied and manipulated by military security teams. There is no defense for post breach actions or for hack backs. Those responsible for this mission area have a strong appetite to move beyond detection-based defenses and enact the USCYBERCOM solution of “persistent engagement, persistent presence” within cyberspace to bring the fight to our cyber adversaries.
The Solution
Addressing the growing number of cyber threats requires both active and passive intelligence gathering measures. CounterCraft recently completed a prototype with DIU, which resulted in a follow-on Production Other Transaction agreement with the DoD to proactively provide warnings of unauthorized activity and hunt for threats. Their Cyber Deception Platform uses sophisticated deception environments to detect and alert adversarial activity and has been tested in military wargames with national and NATO level red teams. CounterCraft is working with strategic subcontractor Parsons Corporation to deliver its Cyber Deception Platform to the DoD.
