Industry estimates that 85% of cyber threat intelligence data is collected and distributed by commercial cyber security providers while the remaining 15% is created and stored by government and military intelligence sources. The DoD lacks insight into the commercial threat intelligence databases that enable real-time analysis and decision making by cyber operators.

Massive quantities of data about adversaries’ malicious cyber activities is available online. Greynoise Intelligence successfully completed a prototype for DoD applications and entered into a Production Other contract that enables the DoD and Federal Government agencies to leverage commercial cyber threat intelligence and analytics. 

Greynoise Intelligence’s Internet Background Noise scanning and analysis capabilities are providing the DoD cyber operations and intelligence communities with enhanced vision into computer based malicious activities and threats. The DoD is now able to gain unrivaled, and previously unavailable, context into cyber attacks against critical infrastructure while also able to prioritize response actions in a more efficient manner.
