U.S. Army and other Services had a need to construct expeditionary barracks, houses, other buildings and fortifications using autonomous 3-D printing. These structures would need to be compliant, environmentally resilient, habitable and fractional to typical costs.
The Solution
Leverage newly developed additive manufacturing techniques to 'print' buildings for a fraction of the cost in time, money, and manpower using customized mixes of construction elements to enable specialty performance characteristics. Icon Build successfully constructed two 3700 square foot barracks using their Vulcan II construction system.
