Current U.S. military and uncrewed ground vehicle (UGV) systems lack an integrated software architecture that supports both robust teleoperation and fully autonomous waypoint navigation in complex, contested environments. This gap limits operational flexibility and hinders seamless transitions between human-in-the-loop and autonomous control modes. A unified software prototype is required to fuse multi-sensor inputs, enable safe and reliable teleoperation and autonomous navigation, and establish a scalable pipeline for continuous integration of advanced autonomy features from industry.
The Solution
Overland AI’s "OverDrive" system is a modular, vehicle-agnostic autonomy stack optimized for off-road, comms-limited environments through real-time perception, mapping, and maneuvering. Its companion system, "OverWatch", provides a tactical C2 interface that enables a single operator to task, monitor, and coordinate multiple autonomous vehicles. Together, they deliver scalable, multi-vehicle mission execution with high reliability in on-trail and off-road environments.
